Lodge Rottnest - Our History
Our heritage makes us a lodge Rottnest visitors choose over all others. Construction of the original building began in 1859, and was completed by 1864, serving as the summer residence for WA’s Governor’s until 1912. When Rottnest Island opened itself up for tourism in 1917, the building was established as one of the very first Rottnest lodges.
